A Manual of Biofilm related exercises The following is a collection of exercises which can be conducted to illustrate the formation and properties of microbial biofilms. Some of these are contributed by colleagues, some are adapted with attribution from commonly available texts and laboratory manuals an some are new and relatively untried. Many are suitable for entire laboratory sections while others might better be reserved for students doing independent work. A few of the exercises could be conducted in middle or perhaps elementary school classes while others due to the potential risk of the reagents used or a lack of equipment would probably be reserved for college classes.
